Process, production engineering and methods engineers contribute to the definition and application of conditions for product manufacture, in compliance with safety and environmental requirements, as well as the quality, cost and lead time objectives set by the customer.

These professions require technical knowledge of the products and production processes, along with a talent for analysis and synthesis, and proven capabilities in understanding, presenting and persuading.
Functions:
The “job description” for process, production engineering and methods engineers is based on
the following:
• Right from facility design stage, identify the actions that will reduce production costs and
improve quality, while meeting safety, environmental and lead time requirements.
• Design and oversee production of new equipment (tooling, installations, workstations, etc.)
within the scope of capital investments, and conduct the associated construction work.
• Oversee the construction plans and instructions.
• Before starting production, ensure that appropriate human resources are available (training,
qualification, certification), plus organizational quality and staff motivation.
• Ensure the consistency of industrial information systems (traceability, labeling, supervision,
etc.).
