The role of production engineers:
Responsible for carrying out industrial operations: development, production, control and services required to meet safety, environment, quality, cost and lead-time objectives.
Required skills:
Independence, decision-making, organization of tasks, delegating authority, management and strong leadership qualities.
Functions:
• Oversee production programs needed to satisfy customer requirements by meeting safety,
environment, quality cost and lead-time objectives.
• Measure production performance, and if needed propose corrective measures to meet
objectives.
• Draw up and update the documents needed for production, in terms of safety (industrial safety
studies, safety recommendations, etc.) and quality (execution files, instructions, etc.),
and ensure that they are correctly applied.
• Monitor production conditions: settings, planning and execution.
• Ensure that human resources match needs (training, qualification, certification), and monitor
organization of tasks and employee motivation.
• Ensure that facilities, machinery and equipment are operational, and keep pace with evolving
requirements.
